The purpose of work was to analyze mastitis spreading, its seasonal prevalence of lactating cows, to carry out a comparison of some methods of diagnostics and treatment of this disease and to find out a role of microflora in etiology of different mastitis forms in modern conditions of milk cattle-breeding. Methods of research - During the investigation clinical, laboratory, bacteriological and statistical methods of investigation was used. Results of the carried out researches - basing on conducted diagnostic investigations of cows with clinical and sub-clinical mastitis, low effectiveness of sedimentation test used for detection and treatment control of this disease has been ascertained. The most effective in this case were diagnosticums Mastoprym and Mastydyn. Bacteriological research has shown that the main causative agents of mastitis of cows during lactation period isStreptococcus agalactiae. When testing its sensitivity to a number of antibiotics it has been figured out that the causative agent is susceptible to neomycin, streptomycin and bicilin - 5. It has shown low susceptibility to monomycin and tetracycline and zero susceptibility to penicillin, levomicetin and baytril. For treatment of cows with different mastitis types during lactation period it is necessary to go for complex therapy containing those antibiotics, towards which the causative agent is susceptible.
