Aim: Salt iodization level study in Donetsk oblast. Methods and Instruments: Epidemiological, biochemical and statistical methods. Results and their novelty: We have investigated 320 salt samples obtained from pregnant women from housekeeping. Only 4% of 160 samples had a salt iodine level of 20mg/kg (that is a sign of iodization). The rest of salt samples have not been iodized. The pregnant women have been informed about imperative necessity for iodized salt consumption for health, and after acceptance of this information 60 % of salt samples that they brought for investigations have the standard iodine level.
