Hydrogenation properties of the synthesized Mg-based alloys have been studied. The high hydrogen storage capacity for the Mg88Al4Ni8 alloy has been determined (~5 wt.%). The (Y,Mg)Ni2 alloys studied for the first time and the dependences of the gas hydrogenation capacity and electrochemical charge-discharge parameters on the magnesium content have been estimated.
