Purposes - to investigate the processes of trace metals transformation in soil, their uptake by plants under the influence of fertilizers application at crop growing in the north part of the Forest Steppe zone of Ukraine. Methods - field trails, green-house trains and laboratory experiments. Results - experiments shown, that fertilizers influence rapidly the processes of trace metals transformation in the soil and their uptake by plants. Fertilizers decreases the mobility of trace metals in the soil and their availability for plants by forming compounds with low solubility. By themselves, fertilizers are not the source of heavy metals. Chernozemic soils have quite high buffer ability against trace metals.
