On the basis of the literary review use of 30 % of a biodiesel engine as additives in diesel fuel for diesel locomotives is revealed. Comparative tests for a bench diesel engine of biodiesel engines of the Ukrainian manufacture are conducted. It is revealed, that one biodiesel engine comes nearer to maintenance of requirements of the standard on a biodiesel engine only.
