Anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions in 2012 from mining & metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine will decrease to 22.4 million t of СО2 as compared with 1990 due to reduction of fuel consumption in view of improving the technology and equipment. Proposals enable decreasing greenhouse gas emissions were developed. It was established that implementing of energy-saving actions at mining & metallurgical enterprises (coal-dust fuel injection into blast furnace hearth, substitution of open-hearth steelmaking by converter process with introduction of continuous casting machines, etc.), by-product coke plants (units for dry quenching), pipe, ferroalloys, refractory plants and ore mining and processing enterprises will provide additional reduction of greenhouse gas emissions on 12.9 million t of СО2 up to 2012.
