Objective: to select a nonradiation stress model and assess its effects upon higher nervous activity of rats depending on the level of experienced stress loading. Methods: behavioral, stress modeling (immobilization, electric current shock), statistical. Among studied models (immobilization, electrical shock), the stress produced by electric current shock was selected. Shock duration up to 10 minutes does not lead to significant changes of studied indices; duration of 10 and 20 minutes cause increase in the level of conditioned behavior performance. Nonlinear dependence of the indices upon stressing duration was found: small and insignificant at 1, 3, and 5 minutes, increased at 10, and especially at 20 minutes, and certain decrease in the case of 40 minutes stressing.
