The aim of this research - the improvement of technology products and calcium hexaluminate light-weight insulating castables with calcium hexaluminate aggregates. Methods of research - chemical, petrographic, physical, mechanical, differential-thermal, phase x-ray method, thermophysical, thermal. Completed study the impact of treatment on the firing properties calcium hexaluminate light-weight with aluminosilicate additives. An optimum temperature firing and hold time, which resulted in the samples obtained from the apparent density of ~ 1 g/cm3 and crushing strength 3-5 MPa depending on the type of additives. A study of the influence of different kinds of alumina and firing temperature on the properties of aggregates calcium hexaluminate. The optimal type of alumina and firing temperature to get a fraction of aggregate 5-0 mm with bulk density 0,83-0,88 g/cm3. The effect of the method for forming properties roasting free castable products with calcium hexaluminate aggregates. It was found that the properties of the products obtained by ram molding and vibrocasting and semi-pressing methods close to each other. Using the optimal type of aggregates received castable samples with apparent density ~ 1.5 g/cm3 and crushing strength ~ 6 MPa after seven days of hardening in the humid conditions of the temperature of up to 1500 °C. According to the contracts with companies in Ukraine experimental batches of thermal castables mix brands SGAKBT-1, 6 and corundum light-weight spacecraft brand-1, 3 with the properties in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents was produced. The research should continue in the direction of further improvement of the technology heat-insulation castables with calcium hexaluminate aggregates, introducing it into production and expand its use, including in a controlled environment.
