There have been made tests on the retarder which has been placed on the western sorting hump at the Yasinovataya station of the Donetsk Railway. These tests were directed towards the determination of the retarding power and the snap-into-action time. As a result there were determined the certain technical characteristics of the mention retarder. The obtained results allow to calculate the necessary quantity of the retarders placed on the retarding positions in the sorting yards of the terminal stations of the different types and apply the new retarders.
