Research purpose is optimization and fabricating of magneto-optic active medium based on epitaxial ferrite-garnet films. Main methods of investigation are magneto-optic. Experimental samples of magneto-optic monocrystalline Bi-containing films with mirror covering were made. Main technical parameters are as follows: epitaxial layer thickness is 4 to 6 mcm; magnetic anisotropy type is easy axis; specific Faraday rotation is 0.8 to 1.1 °/mсm at wavelength of 0.63 mcm; saturation magnetization field is 4.6 to 5.6 kA/m; coercivity is 50 to 100 A/m; intrinsic domain structure period is 35 to 42 mcm; mirror covering is titanium nitride. Application field is defectoscopy of metals and alloys.
