Urgency: Studying of the modern periodical press gives a considerable material for finding-out of conceptual bases and linguistic signs of journalistic materials in interpretation of such a difficult and socially important category as national idea. Conclusion: The newspaper journalism oriented on the reportation of the topic "The Ukrainian national idea", on the one hand, has no certain traditions and conceptual bases; on the other hand, it has not been exposed to scientific judgment.
