Department of psychiatry popup.description2 Subject of inquiry: methylated xanthine derivatives (thеоphylline, theobromine, 3-methylxanthine), their N7- and N1- substituted ones, which contain in their structure substituted phenylic substitute, alcohol-, amide- and carboxygroups as well as ylidenehydrazine groups in 8position. 8-aminosubstituted 7-?-hydroxy- -aryloxypropylxanthines. Available synthesis methods of 1,7,8-substituted of xanthine, promising bioactive compounds, were worked out. Reactivity of 1- and 7-substituted 8-bromoxanthines relative to N-, O- and S-nucleophils was investigated for the first time that resulted in synthesis of derivatives non-described in literature. Interaction of 8-hydrazinoxanthines with aromatic and heterocyclic aldehydes and ketones was investigated and a whole number of derivatives non-described in literature was received. On the basis of thioxanthines reactions of electrophilic substitution with alkyl-, alkenyl-, benzyl-, halogenides, halogenalcohols, halogenoketones, halogenoacids and their functional derivatives were studied that resulted in development of simple preparative methods of receiving of unknowing 8-R-thioderivatives of xanthine. Elemental analysis, IR-, PMR-spectroscopy, mass-spectrometry, thin-layer chromatography, pharmacological screening in vitro and in vivo were used for verification of synthesized compounds structure. Biological investigations revealed compounds which after further required study can be used as antioxidants, analgetics, anti-inflammatory agents, diuretics and cholesterol-lowering drugs.
