Department of psychiatry popup.description2 Monitoring of allergenic plants pollen content in air of Zaporozhye city and 20 district centers was done during vegetation from 2005 till 2009. Pollen bank was created which can be used for determining of pollen specific composition. Two Trans-Ukraine palynological expeditions were performed in 2006 and 2007 on the onset of ambrosia blossoming for comparison of air pollution with ambrosia pollen in different regions of Ukraine. Air samples in cities were taken by express method. It was established that in Zaporozhye ambrosia is the main component of aeropalynological spectrum of allergenic plants, amount of amprosia pollen is the biggest in August when allergenic plants of sagebrush, hemp, atriplex geneses and cereals bloom. Mass acute attacks of pollen allergies correlate with the peaks of pollen concentration, and aeroallergic monitoring allows to notice physicians and to prognose mass pollinosis and bronchial asthma attacks. Zaporozhye State Medical University is included into European Aeroallergen Network (first in Ukraine) due to the monitoring results since 2007.
