It was found that increasing of pollution level of sod-podzol soil by Pb and Zn results in retardation of HM immobilization and in acceleration of their vertical migration. It also enhances HM uptake by vegetation. Over time, there is a reduction of vegetation contamination by HM according to the dynamics of their mobile species in soil, and reducing of Pb plants pollution is much faster than in the case of Zn. It was established that the 137Cs exchange and unexchange sorption by clays of different mineral composition occurs at the reaction centres of various types, the rate constants of ion exchange and unexchange sorption and desorption of 137Cs in reaction centres of every type for clays of different mineral composition were determined. It was found, that the clays may be arranged in series: palygorskite <kaolin <bentonite according to their ability to unexchange 137Cs sorption.
