The Subject: ethno-political and gender processes in the South of Ukraine in the twentieth century. The aim: to investigate the complex formation of ethno-political problems of the Ukrainian political nation in 20-30s of the twentieth century, partly, on the regional level, gender aspect of the socio-political and everyday life in the South of Ukraine in the twentieth century. Methods of the investigation: problem-chronological, statistical, comparative, method of historical reconstruction. Theoretical and practical results: It was proved, that the attitude Bolshevik Party of Ukraine to Ukrainization was stipulated by the essence of Bolshevism, doctrinal approaches to the national question and the ways its permission, the position of the Bolsheviks in the Ukraine, tactical considerations and political expediency. The special feature of Ukrainization of Soviet policy was narrowed to its hardware and uplifts the framework interpretation, instrumentalist approach, where national development has been treated as a goal, but only an instrument of conquest and preservation of power and mastery of the Ukrainian society from the inside. It was grounded, that the representatives of the Ukrainian national-conscious elite in the vast majority failed to recognize the essence of the Bolshevik policy of Ukrainization. The temporary phenomenon was compromises, which were born, with the Soviets in the USSR and "sovetofilstvo" in the West of Ukraine and the emigration environment. It is proved, that the phenomenon Ukrainization 20s - early 30s. had a essential influence on the politicization of ethnicity in Ukraine. Nativization also allowed evolving no Russian-language identity of national minorities. However, assimilation inertia of the past had been great influence on other ethnic communities and facilitated the development of the phenomenon of Russian subculture in separate groups, as well akulturatsii Ukrainians. It was found, that during the twentieth century took place the integration of women in education and culture in Ukraine. It is proved that the increase of women in social and professional activity helped to reduce gender asymmetry, however, continued to be a gender limitation on science, stereotypes of the secondary role of women in science and education.
