A research object is ground calibration test site (CTS) of the remote sensing satellite systems, research subject is a method for calibration of the remote sensing satellite electro-optical systems using the natural and artificial objects of CTS. The research objective is to provide the calibration of satellite imaging electro-optical instrument of "Sich-2" remote sensing system using the CTS within the NCCTSF territory. Research methods are a comparative analysis of technical descriptions of ground CTS objects, database theory, theory of radiative transfer, information theory, mathematical analysis. Research is executed on the order of the State Space Agency of Ukraine. A head contractor is Space Research Institute of NAS-SSA of Ukraine; associate contractor is the Scientific Centre for Aerospace Research of the Earth of NAS of Ukraine. The main part of the report consists of three sections, two subsections and conclusions. The experience of the calibration sites implementation abroad is analyzed, an overview of existing CTS is performed, CTS types and equipment are considered. The main task of the modern calibration test sites is the periodic monitoring of the spacecraft onboard imaging electro-optical system parameters in flight. To do this within the grounds settle a variety of natural and artificial objects with known spatial (geometric), radiometric and spectral characteristics are equipped. They are optical, thermal and radar test patterns, precision 3D-positioning marks, etc. A database segment for the spectral reflectance of CTS objects within the NCCTSF territory. A database is a computerized system for creating, storing and editing records in a special format. The database contains high-precision measurement of the test objects spectra, their graphical representation, locations of point measurements in map, area codename, coordinates, measurement instrument specifications, auxiliary information. A method for estimation of spectral sensitivity of multispectral imaging system spectral band based on remote sensing satellite imagery of CTS test objects is developed. The parameterization of spectral sensitivity of multispectral imaging system spectral band is offered, which provides the ability to solve analytically an equation for the spectral sensitivity. The research output can be used to create the calibration sites for the "Sich-2" remote sensing satellite system and also for other remote sensing systems.
