Voloshinovskii, Доктор фізико-математичних наук Registration Date 31-01-2012 Organization Ivan Franko National University of Lviv popup.description2 It was shown that the excitation of europium centres in MeX2 (Me=Sr, Ba; X=Cl, Br, I) microcrystals embedded in NaX matrix and MeCl2 (Me=Ca, Sr, Ba) microcrystals embedded in CsI matrix is realized by the absorption in the range of 4f?5d transitions and by the reabsorption of ALE luminescence of NaX matrix at low temperatures. The formation of CsCaI3, CsSrI3, CsBa2I5 crystalline microphases in CsI-MeI2-EuI2 (Me=Ca, the Sir, Ba) systems embedded in CsI matrix were revealed. The improvement of formation of CsBa2I5 microphases activated by europium ions upon aftergrown annealing of CsI-BaI2-Eu crystal at Т=200°С was shown. Dependence of scintilation properties of LaPO4-Ln and LuPO4-Ln (Ln = Eu, Pr) nanoparticles on their sizes was observed. In the case of excitation energies in the range of Eg <E <2Eg the luminescent intensity mainly depends on the nanoparticle size. The relation between the photoelectron free path and the nanoparticle size dominantly depends on luminescent intensity upon X-ray excitation. This regularity allows to select the nanoparticles of minimal sizes that are necessary for registration of the ionizing radiation by the scintillation nanoparticles.
