Within the frameworks of general department’s scientific theme Slavic philologists study linguistic and literary problems that are related to the development of the language and literature in Western and Southern Slavic countries. The results of these studies are published in articles and monographs, proclaimed during scientific conferences also take their place in dissertation papers and handbooks. Within the frameworks of the theme international conferences and seminars are organized and such corpuses as “PytanniaSorabistyky” are published. The separate themes are studied in cooperation with high schools in Kiev, Uzhgorod, Lusatian institute in Bautzen (Germany), with high schools in Czech Republic, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and other countries. The Slavic department cooperates with these scientific organizations for a long time.
