The transformational models of social relations of the new EU members and applicants for the membership, as well as major directions of reforming of the social regulation system in Ukraine, which gained the status of the EU Border States, were analysed. The character of interaction of Ukrainian and European socio-economic indicators, as well as the acceptable mechanisms of implementation of the EU social model are determined. The improvement of the regulatory framework in the socio-economic sphere is analyzed in order to reach the EU standards. As a result, of the work on the subject the authors have developed a set of recommendations that can be used in the formation of national social and economic policy.
