In conditions of salt stress these plants differed with enhanced activity of antioxidant enzymes and content of sugars and anthocyanins. Under the influence of 0.5 mM SNP salt resistance of wild type plants was increased, which was manifested in a less inhibition of growth and in maintaining a pool of photosynthetic pigments after exposure to salt stress (200 mM NaCl). Treatment with SNP did not make a significant impact on salt resistance of plants with jin1 genotype. In plants of wild type but not mutant jin1, treated with NO donor, there was increased activity of antioxidant enzymes - superoxide dismutase, catalase and guaiacol peroxidase in leaves, especially noticeable on the background of salt stress. Similar effects were found in salicylate-deficient plants NahG too. In wild type plants treated with donor NO, the proline content in leaves after salt stress was lower and sugar was higher than in untreated. The jin1 mutants and NahG transformants treated with donor of nitric oxide had more significant increase in proline content in leaves under salt stress than the wild type plants. The conclusions were made about the transcript factor JIN1/MYC2 participation in NO-dependent induction of certain protective reactions of plants to salt stress and the possibility of inducing of protective systems in A. thaliana plants under influence of nitric oxide without salicylate involved.
