The purpose of the research is to substantiate the effectiveness of protective afforestation and to develop standards of biological productivity for the components of the above-ground phytomass of striped plantations in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods of research - the theoretical and methodological basis of the research are the fundamental works of prominent domestic and foreign researchers in the field of determining the bio-productivity of forest ecosystems. In the process of research, the methods and standard methods used in forestry, forest measurement, soil science, agronomy and forestry melioration were used; wide application of mathematical methods, modeling of natural phenomena and processes; multiple regression analysis method. The main results and their novelty are the establishment of qualitative characteristics of components of the phytomass of the trunk and crown of oak trees in windbreaks, the development of mathematical models for estimating the volumes of phytomass components for trunk and crown of oak trees. For the first time, the oxygen production of field-protective windbreaks has been determined. Area of application - agroforestry, environmental monitoring. The results of the study are used both in the practice of agro-forest-meliorative arrangement of protective forest-melioration stands, as well as in ecological management of territories for increasing the ecological and economic potential of agro-landscapes.
