The igneous rocks and dykes were studied both by geological-structural field observations and results by analytical methods (petro-geochemical, isotopic-geochronological, tectonophysical, petomagnetic and petromagnetic analysis etc.). It allowed to erected the new stratigraphic scheme of Ukrainian Antarctic station region composed by magmatic rocks and terrigenous deposits which accumulated from Late Paleozoic to the Upper Cenozoic. It has been determined that intrusive formations cannot be constituents of a single magmatic complex of the Antarctic Peninsula Batholith, as previously thought. The stages of dyke intrusions in Mesozoic and Cenozoic and four peaks of magmatic activity by 183, 117, 85, and 55 Ma have been identified within the Piterman Island and have been occurred the different parts of the Antarctic Peninsula. The stages of Meso-Cenozoic magmatism by Peterman Island are considered within the framework of geodynamic evolution model of the Proto-Pacific oceanic plate and its interaction with the Antarctic plate. The results explain how the formation, development and destruction of the Andean type continental margin to which Western Antarctica belongs were done. New data with the results of previous geological and geophysical studies should be provide a modern scientific background for further evaluation of the mineral resource potential near Ukrainian Antarctic station.
