Head Soroka Yu.M., Registration Date 22-06-1999 Organization Ukrainian Scientific Research and Disign Institute for Industrial Technology popup.description2 The purpose of this work was to clear level of negative impact on environmental entities and population health from uranium ore mining and milling faciliies included into VostGOK plant (Zhovty Vody, Ingulska, Smolinska sites) and Pridniprovsky Chemical Plant (PCP, Dniprodzerzhynsk). Collaborators of our institute have prepared the Methodics of complex radioecological and cosial and hygienic assessment of uranium sites, including methods of environment sampling and analysis, equipment applied, as well as recommendation for decreasing negative impact of above mentioned facilities on nature and human. The aquatic bodies condition at ZhovtyVody site has been investigated. Almost all the water basins have an exceeded concentration of sulfate-ions, which value reaches somewhere 800mg/l, that exceeds in 1,6 times a maximum permissible concentration for drinking and houshold purposes. The light exceedings were also noticed for some metals content (as Al, Br, Fe, Mn, Zn). It has been conducted the cosial and h ygienic assessment of population health condition living at the uranium facilities impact zones. According to data of previous examination the exceedings of average region and state indexes of general and cancerous deseases , as well as mortality, disablement etc. have been revealed. The conclusion was made, that the patalogy is caused also by improper ecology. Continuous and timely studing population health at given districts will let make one able to get real assessment and recommend range of preventive and nature protective measures.
