Characteristics of various pgrades of alumophospahate binder heve been established as well as raw materials for its manufacture according to the manual in force. Positive results were obtained for substitution of reageent-grade aluminium hudroxide for technical grade, as well as substitution of thermal phosphoric acid for extraction grade. Laboratory samples of alumophospahate binder have been prepared using aluminium hydroxide from Ni Mykolaiv Alumina Plant and Zaporizhia Aluminium Works as well as phosphoric acid from Sumykhimprom Company. The sumples were tested at Ukrainian Research Institute of Foundry Machines and proved to be acceptable as a binder. The costs of alumophospahate binder manufacture are substantially reduced as a results of substitution of reagent grade raw materials for technical grade.
