The aim - to obtain reliable indices of sealing and near-surface gas pollution for evalution of gas and ecology safety of Vergunske UGS and Vilhivske GCF exploitation. By analyzing materials of gas-geochemical investigation the area, confinement, morfology, genetic belonging of the revealed near-surface polluted areals were estimated and their impact on gas-ecology environment conditions for troubl-free UGS and GCF exploitation was determined. Basing on results of hydrogeological research of Vergunske UGS control wells the characterization of control horizons' fluid system was obtained, the current sealing state of reservoir-formation cap and interaction between the outlined water saturated zone and the artificial gas pool were estimated. Given are the conclusions on the current state of operating and abandoned wells, feasbility of lateral and vertical gas leakage, absence of secondary gas accuvulation in the control horizons.
