The dissemination of information technologies has certain ecological consequences. Some of such ecological consequences are debatable (may be regarded as positive or as negative consequences depending on certain circumstances). Information technologies are the basis for the fifth technological setup, which creates the preconditions for information-oriented economy establishment.
