The behaviour of the most probable elastic shear stress, appearing in the lubricant, is studied and phase diagrams are calculated for the case of second-order transition - the melting of amorphous lubricant and for the first-order transition - the melting of crystalline lubricant. It is shown that for the first case the fluctuations of friction surfaces temperature result in appearance of stick-slip friction domain, dividing the regions of dry and sliding friction, inherent in the first-order transition. In the second case the two steady-states arise corresponding to the values of elastic shear stress, at which the metastable and the stationary sliding friction is realized. The increase of correlation time for fluctuations of friction surfaces temperature leads to increasing of its value needed for realization of sliding friction.
