Special attention is paid to the sound-colour aspect, i.e. the ability of the sounds to stimulate certain colour associations - latent connection between the sound and non-sound images. The phenomenon is investigated on the base of A. S. Grin work "The Scarlet Sails". The research carried out showed that the phonetic-semantic arrangement adds to the general emotional content of the text and makes it brighter.
