The diversity of hybrid language situations entails tremendous problems for the translator who is often confronted with directly opposite motivating forces, one of them requiring him to avoid idiom and other linguistic signs associated with the speech of native speakers, and the other making him look for ways of obliterating “foreignness”. As research shows, this dilemma appears to be very acute with situations in which Business English is the main tool of communication.
