Здійснено спробу класифікації та систематизації способів утворення лексичних інновацій. На основі вивчення джерел та механізмів формування нових слів встановлено, що, інтегруючи одиниці морфологічного, лексичного та синтаксичного рівнів у один єдиний механізм вербокреації, словотвір набуває трансрівневого характеру. Для номінації понять та процесів словотвору автор впроваджує нові терміни: вербокреативная деривація, вербоформантизація, верботрансформантизація, потенційна поліфункціональність. The author classifies and systematizes the ways of formation of lexical innovations. On the ground of analyses of the sources and ways of creation of new words it is determined that integrating the units of morphological, lexical and syntactic systems into one word-forming mechanism English word-formation acquires translevel character. The author provides some new terms for nominating the notions and processes dealing with word-formation, such as: verbocreative derivation, verboformantization, verbotransformantization, potential polyfunctionalism.
