Considering that any utterance has both informative and emotional value, the author claims that the pragmatic effects of a literary text and its emotional impact on the reader are predetermined by the in-text interpretation. Therefore, the integrative approach combining cognitive-discourse studies, psycholinguistic analysis, cognitive pragmalinguistics should be given consideration in terms of decoding implicit information to be found in the foregrounded syntactical structures.
