There are coding theory, number theory and theory of constructing digital technics among these applications. Theory of constructing digital technics is important for developing more speed and reliable electronic computed equipment. The place of contemporary number systems is pointed out in discrete mathematics, as its basement for building mathematical structures. У даній роботі розглянуті загальні підходи до роз’яснення поняття числа і систем числення, а також до практичного застосування сучасних систем числення в різних науках. Серед цих наук теорія кодування, теорія чисел, теорія побудови цифрової техніки. Остання з цих наук важлива для розроблення більш швидкодіючих і надійних систем електронної обчислювальної техніки. Вказано місце сучасних систем числення в дискретній математиці як її підвалини при побудові математичних структур.
