Thus the integration process into the European structures should be the cardinal direction of Ukrainian governmental politics. On the accounting of realization of Action Plan “Ukraine-EU” there is marked the progress in the question of democracy consolidation, respect to human rights and domination of rights, which are caused by the Orange Revolution. But still only the first steps were taken in the struggle with corruption. In the case of human rights European marks admit not only positive changes, but also the problems in judicial structures (tortures applied to prisoners), lack of administrative and law reforms etc. EU and Ukraine started discussion as for new agreement of March 6, 2007. At this stage positions of the sides principally differ in some conceptual questions. Ukraine is eager to have a new agreement that would foresee association with perspective of membership in EU, while EU does not intend to give such perspectives at this stage. popup.nrat_date 2025-05-12 Close
