She describes the goals of the project, as well as methodological issues and problems relating to it, such as the types of the questionnaires used, the geographical areas covered, and how to categorize the interviewees. She also provides a statistical summary of the results to date of the project’s work in the twelve years of its existence. Next, the author shows how oral sources can be used to reconstruct the history of the state-led liquidation of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Galicia in 1945-1946 and its forced "reunion" with the Russian Orthodox Church. Finally, the article points out the varieties of responses of Greek-Catholic priests (ranging from acceptance to total rejection) to the "reunion".
