Тому в даній статті здійснено спробу оцінити вплив Базеля ІІ на банківський сектор малої перехідної економіки відкритого типу. Аналіз починається з опису впровадження умов Базельської угоди в Словенії та головних відмінностей при порівнянні з впливом офіційної угоди. Дослідження було проведене за три місяці до впровадження угоди Базель ІІ. У статті також запропоновано коментарі стосовно майбутнього розвитку сфери банківського регулювання Словенії. Basel II was primarily not written having small banks or small national banking markets in mind. Therefore, the paper tries to estimate the impact of Basel II on the banking sector of a small open transition economy. The analysis starts with describing how Basel II was implemented in Slovenia and what the main differences compared to the official Accord are. In order to gain an insight into Slovenian banks a survey was conducted just three months before the implementation of Basel II. This may have been a more appropriate moment for the evaluation of Basel II consequences than the Slovenian Quantitative Impact Study which was made in 2003.
