Equally often we do hear the criticism of the monetary policy pointing to excessively high interest rates. This paper estimates the speed of upward adjustment of loan rates relative to downward adjustment, accounting for different market segments and products. The empirical results show that for the investment credit upward adjustment is fast, but downward adjustment essentially does not occur. Consumer credit products demonstrate positive values for the speed of both adjustments although still upward changes occur faster than downwards ones. These findings suggest that banks may tend to discriminate entrepreneurs against other types of borrowers. This type of strategy can be only sustainable under insufficient competition or with the behavioral parallelism among the banks. Скарги на недостатні приватні інвестиції є звичним явищем для Польщі. Так само часто ми чуємо критичні зауваження стосовно надміру високих процентних ставок. У статті оцінено швидкість підвищення кредитних ставок по відношенню до тенденції зниження, яка складає частку різних сегментів та товарів ринку. Емпіричні результати показують, що для інвестиційних кредитів підвищення є швидким, але тенденції до суттєвого зниження не існує. Результати споживчих кредитів демонструють позитивні значення для швидкості обох тенденцій, хоча зміни в плані підвищення ціни відбуваються швидше, ніж тенденції до зниження. Ці результати наводять на думку про те, що банки можуть мати схильність відокремлювати підприємців від інших типів позичальників. Цей тип стратегії може бути єдиною стабільною перевагою в умовах недостатньої конкуренції чи поведінкового паралелізму між банками. popup.nrat_date 2025-05-12 Close
