The banks are viewed as the elements of the banking system, and their main function includes transformation of savings into investments. The author also proves the need to take into account risks of bank transactions when determining the level of efficiency and use of the regression model in order to reveal the factors which affect the banks' efficiency. Автор анализирует детали применения эконометрического подхода к оценке эффективности банков Украины. Банки рассматриваются как элементы банковской системы, и их основная функция включает трансформацию сбережений в инвестиции.
