Сharacter reflected in national folklore of national-religious views of Ukrainian people is traced. The paper considers the semantics of the concept of “religion” and how it shaped the implementation of verbal language in view of the world of folk doom. The author sets the position of background information related to actualization marked concepts in consideration of the concept, defines its semantic volume, indicating the specificity of its interaction with the other concepts of the heroic epic works, justifies the ideological burden of the concept of “religion” in the style and stylistic aspects. The conclusion is made about close connection of Ukrainian folklore with the spiritual life of people.
