Схарактеризовано суттєві ознаки кожного з етапів. The article deals with the historical base of using information and communication technologies in teaching foreign languages. On the basis of Ukrainian and foreign authors’ works the main steps of developing using information and communication technologies in teaching foreign languages are revealed, among them: preliminary, automatic, computer, informative, integrative, social.
