Одними з пріоритетних завдань будь-якої держави є охорона та захист державного кордону. До цього часу існує низка проблем договірно-правового характеру щодо демаркації та делімітації державного кордону з колишніми республіками СРСР, що негативно впливає на забезпечення недоторканності державного кордону. У ст. 17 Конституції України закріплено, що забезпечення державної безпеки та захист державного кордону нашої країни покладаються на відповідні військові формування й правоохоронні органи держави. Основними правоохоронними органами, що забезпечують правопорядок на державному кордоні та здійснюють захист правового режиму у виключній (морській) економічній зоні, є Державна прикордонна служба України та органи внутрішніх справ. Саме від діяльності цих правоохоронних органів та ефективності взаємодії між ними залежать стан правопорядку на державному кордоні та його недоторканність. An integral sign of a sovereign state is the existence of a state border as a mandatory factor in the formation of a holistic state-territorial organism. One of the priority tasks of any state is the protection and protection of the state border. By this time, there are a number of contractual and legal issues regarding the demarcation and delimitation of the state border with the former Soviet republics, which negatively affects the safeguarding of the state border. In Art. 17 of the Constitution of Ukraine states that ensuring state security and protecting the state border of our country relies on appropriate military formations and law-enforcement bodies of the state. The main law enforcement agencies that ensure the rule of law at the state border and protect the legal regime in the exclusive (maritime) economic zone are the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the bodies of internal affairs.
