Such conclusion was made by the development program of the United Nations in 1997. More than 60 years ago in 1948 the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which stated that every person regardless of gender has the same rights and freedoms[1]. However in 1997 the report about human development says that no state is successful in achieving this goal. However the level of "underachievement" varies in each country. But still the Nordic countries such as Sweden, Norway and Iceland are famous as the states in which the level of gender inequality is the smallest. In developing countries however women are often faced with injustice which is sometimes difficult to understand.
