В статье проведён комплексный анализ концепта ЭМПАТИЯ как когнитивно-коммуникативного образования, воплощённого средствами современного английского языка, с помощью фреймових моделей и модусного структурирования. Проанализирован понятийный модус эмпатии с выделением грамматического профилирования как его основного конституэнта. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the concept EMPATHY as a cognitive and communicative entity, embodied by means of modern English language, using frame models and modus structuring. The notional modus of concept EMPATHY is analyzed with singling out of grammatical shaping as its principal constituent. Epidigmatic structure of the lexical units representing empathy in English discourse mirrors different ways of a person’s reflective perception of the ability to identify with another person or to understand his/her views. Thus, the function of grammatical shaping of the notional modus of concept EMPATHY, embodied in lexical units, is to systematize the constitutive features of its recognizable essence. The sole conceptual base lies at the core of these units – it is the frame of notional modus of concept EMPATHY, but the conceptualizer’s attention is focused on its various slots. The slots are: empathy (n) – INSTRUMENT/AGENT, empathizer/empathiser (n) – AGENT, empathizee/empathisee (n) – PATIENT, empathize/empathise (v) – ACTION, empathetic/empathic (adj), empathizing/empathizing (adj) – SUCH, empathetically/empathically (adv), empathizingly/empathisingly (adv) – SO. Formation and cognitive-semasiological interpretation of the concept, approximated to scientific definition, are the result of purposeful cognitive activity of the subject of cognition and reflect his/her general socio-cultural experience. popup.nrat_date 2025-05-12 Close
