Наведено елементи, які складають криміналістичну характеристику серійних вбивств. А також детально охарактеризовано кожний елемент криміналістичної характеристики серійних вбивств. В статті розглядаються основні етапи та особливості розслідування та розкриття кримінальних убивств. Детально розглядається криміналістична характеристика серійних убивств, робиться акцент на важливості правильної обробки інформаційної складової приватної криміналістичної методики розслідування серійних убивств. Відзначається важливість і необхідність складання психологічної інформації про злочинця на початковому етапі дослідження. В статті також наводиться список типів дослідницьких версій, висунутих слідчим, які дії вимагаються від слідчого на початковому етапі розслідування. Аналізується перелік необхідних слідчих дій, що сприяють розкриттю злочину, до якого відносяться: огляду місця вчинення злочину, огляду трупа (при його наявності), криміналістичних та судово-медичних експертиз, допиту свідків і підозрюваного, детальний огляд території, що прилягає до місця злочину та ін. У висновках вказується, що ефективність та результативність розслідування серійних вбивств, пов’язано із створенням підходящої криміналістичної методики розслідування злочинів зазначеної категорії, залученням до розслідування спеціалістів-психологів та створенням спеціальних слідчо-оперативних груп, на які необхідно покласти розслідування справ цього виду. characterization of serial murders are given.
