Монархія і республіка є основними формами правління. Демократія і авторитаризм є основними формами політичного режиму. Специфічним різновидом авторитарного політичного режиму є тоталітаризм. Його існування не залежить від існуючої в країні форми правління. Зокрема, досвід монархічних країн – Італії, Великої Британії та Японії, свідчить, що монархічна форма правління і тоталітарний політичний режим можуть як співіснувати між собою, так і протистояти одне одному. The form of government and political regime are elements of state forms. Monarchy and Republic are the main forms of government. Democracy and authoritarianism are the main forms of the political regime. Totalitarianism is specific form of the authoritarian political regime. His existence does not depend on the current form of government in the country.
