Автор визначає основні напрями та форми роботи публічних бібліотек, їх проектну діяльність. У ході дослідження доводиться, що екологічна просвіта представляє перспективний напрям культурно-просвітницької діяльності, що пов’язаний зі змінами соціокультурного середовища сучасності. Визначені тенденції екологічного формату культурно-просвітницької діяльності у XXI ст. Використання досвіду публічних бібліотек південного регіону України дозволить удосконалити культурно-просвітницьку роботу в напрямі екологічної просвіти в інших регіонах України. Усвідомлення значимості такого досвіду сприятиме підвищенню ролі публічної бібліотеки в системі соціальних комунікацій суспільства. The purpose of the article is to study the activities of public libraries in the South of Ukraine on ecological education. The author defines the main directions and forms of work of public libraries, their project activity. During the study it is proved that ecological education is a promising direction of cultural and educational activities, which is related to changes in the sociocultural environment of our time. The trends of the ecological format of cultural and educational activities in the 21st century are determined. Using the experience of public libraries in the southern region of Ukraine will improve cultural and educational work in the direction of ecological education in other regions of Ukraine.
