Досліджено поняття «компетист» та «компетентність» в широкому їх значенні. Вивчено основні, якісні характеристики компетиста, як людини, яка володіє кількома професіями, має знання та практичні вміння в різних сферах. The article studies the requirements for educators regarding to the sphere of professional competence in the light ofthe educational reforms and social transformations. The aim of the work is to highlight modern requirements for teaching at the university.
