The manual presents a competency-oriented method of teaching the Ukrainian language in general secondary education (for example, the section "Verb"). Considerable attention is paid to exercises and tasks that contribute to the formation of vital competencies, systematic work with socio-cultural texts that contain the problem and the language array for the study, repetition and consolidation of various linguistic phenomena. Work on enriching students' active vocabulary is also systematic. The author proposes to study the verb not only as a grammatical category, but also as a tool for forming a competent speaker with a rich spiritual world and moral virtues.
