The textbook covers the main issues of general microbiology, in particular the history of the development of science; the place of microorganisms in the system of living beings; morphology, physiology, systematics of microorganisms; distribution of microorganisms in nature and their role in the circulation of substances and energy; influence of environmental factors on the vital activity of microorganisms. The concepts of infections, immunity and properties of pathogenic microorganisms are considered. Attention is paid to indicators of sanitary and hygienic safety and the basics of expert microbiological evaluation of goods. The publication is recommended for students of higher education of the first (bachelor's) level in the specialty 076 "Entrepreneurship, trade and stock exchange activity" of the State Federal Service of Ukraine University.
