Three different melodies were discovered in the Russian singing books and they had many other tittles too, but the wide-spread melody was single. Main melody had being found in Russian monodic Obikhod and as 2, 3 and 4-voices harmonizations written as neumatic as square five-line notations. Analysis of the chants showed two types of harmonizations. The one type was formed in according with the rules of “Musical Grammatik” written by N. Dylecki and the second one had influence of Old Russian polyphonic putno-demestvennyi style. The article suggested that the first type of harmonizations could have been written by singers of the Kiev metropolis. popup.nrat_date 2025-11-05 Close
