The musical sign fita is used in the 13–16th century slavonic neumatic notation and has “transcription” in Irmologion 17th century with Kyivan linear notation. Similar sign is present in the byzantine notation, which also reflects melismas. Also in chants fita has special types: fita svitlaya, fita dvochelnaya and khabuva (with modal change mutation). The melody has different modus: 2, 5, 7, 8.
